Jonny Diaz
Contemporary Christian pop artist Jonny Diaz was born Jonathan Adam Diaz on March 30, 1984 in Lakeland, Florida. He attended college on a baseball scholarship, his brother is professional baseball player Matt Diaz, yet he said he felt God was calling him to pursue music. He began his music career by leading worship for the youth group of the First Presbyterian Church in his hometown. While still in college, Diaz released two albums, Shades of White (2003) and Everyday God (2007.)
Jonny Diaz collaborated with producer Mitch Dane on his third album, They Need Love, in 2007. It contained the single “Hold Me” which became Diaz’s first Top 40 hit. His major label debut, More Beautiful You, was released on July 25, 2009 and the title track reached #2 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. Jonny Diaz has toured with Stephen Curtis Chapman, Bebo Norman and Shane & Shane. His most recent album, Let It Fly, was released on April 8, 2014.
