Joel Silver

Joel Silver is an American film producer born in South Orange, New Jersey on July 14, 1952. He is best known for producing action films, including The Matrix Trilogy, the Lethal Weapon series, the first two Die Hard films and the first two Predator films. He started his career at Lawrence Gordon Productions and eventually became president of motion pictures at the company. In 1985 he started the film company Silver Pictures that produced the films, The Matrix Trilogy, Commando, the Lethal Weapon franchise, the first two Predator films and more. In 1999 he co-founded his second film production company, Dark Castle Entertainment. Some of his best-known films that he has produced are Orphan, Sherlock Holmes, V for Vendetta, Romeo Must Die, Commando, 48 Hrs, Demolition Man, and Jumpin’ Jack Flash.
