Jim Caviezel is an American actor born in Mount Vernon, Washington on September 26, 1968. He is best known for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in the film The Passion of the Christ. He started acting in plays in Seattle, Washington. He made his film debut in 1991 in the movie My Own Private Idaho and continued landing roles in the films Diggstown, Ed, The Rock, The Thin Red Line, Ride with the Devil, Pay It Forward, Angel Eyes, Madison, The Count of Monte Cristo, High Crimes, Highwaymen, The Passion of the Christ, The Final Cut, Long Weekend, Escape Plan, When the Game Stands Tall, Running for Grace and more. He made his debut on television in 1992 in the show The Wonder Years and has since had roles in the shows Murder, She Wrote, Children of the Dust, The Prisoner, and Person of Interest. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and has won two MovieGuide Award, a Satellite Award, a Giffoni Award, and a Character and Mortality in Entertainment Award.
