Javy Baez

Ednel Javier “Javy” Báez was born on December 1, 1992 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He was drafted as a third baseman for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). Báez played baseball for his high school in Jacksonville, Florida, and then he was the overall ninth pick by The Cubs in the 2011 MLB Draft. He won the World Series championship (2016), NLCS MVP (2016), Fielding Bible Award (2016, 2017), and the 2017 World Baseball Classic All-Tournament Team. He also won a silver medal representing Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic (2017).
