Jake Shears

Jake Shears is an American singer and songwriter born in Mesa, Arizona on October 3, 1978. He is best known for being the lead singer for the pop band Scissor Sisters. Before starting his music career Shears wrote for the gay magazine HX and was a music reviewer for Paper magazine. In 2001 he co-founded the band Scissor Sisters with Scott Hoffman. Together they released four studio albums, two EPs, and two video albums before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2012. In 2017 Shears released his debut solo single “Creep City.” He released his debut solo album in 2018 self-titled Jake Shears. That same year he released his autobiography titled Boys Keep Swinging. Shears has also collaborated with the artists Andy Bell, Tiga, Luomo, Calvin Harris, John Garden, Cher, and others.
