Iced Earth
Iced Earth is an American heavy metal band formed in Tampa Florida in 1984. The band was initially named the Rose from 1984 to 1985, then Purgatory from 1985 to 1988, until finally it was named Iced Earth in 1988. The current members of the band are Stu Block on lead vocals, Jake Dreyer on lead guitar, Jon Schaffer on rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, backing vocals, keyboards, and mandolin, Luke Appleton on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Brent Smedley on drums. In 1989 they released their debut EP titled Enter the Realm and have since released the EPs The Melancholy E.P., Overture of the Wicked, and 5 Songs. In 1990 they released their debut studio album self-titled Iced Earth. They have also released the albums Night of the Stormrider, Burnt Offerings, The Dark Saga, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Horror Show, The Glorious Burden, Framing Armageddon: Something Wicked Part 1, The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part 2, Dystopia, Plagues of Babylon, and Incorruptible. They have released 12 studio albums, 4 EPs, 3 compilation albums, and 2 live albums.
