Greg Schiano

Greg Schiano is an American football coach born in Wyckoff, New Jersey on June 1, 1966. He is best known for being the head coach at Rutgers from 2001 to 2011 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012 to 2013. Schiano played football in high school and college. In 1988 he started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Ramapo High School. He served as a graduate assistant at Rutgers in 1989 and took the same position at Penn State in 1990. In 1991 he became the defensive backs coach at Penn State. From 1996 to 1998 he was an assistant coach for the NFL team the Chicago Bears. In 1999 he became the defensive coordinator at the University of Miami for the Miami Hurricanes. Schiano became a head coach at Rutgers in 2001 and stayed in that position until 2011. From 2012 to 2013 he served as the head coach for the NFL team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2016 he became the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for Ohio State University and coached there until 2018. Throughout his career he has been awarded Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, the George Munger Award, Home Depot Coach of the Year and others.
