Perhaps better known as Ginger Spice, British pop singer, writer and actress Geraldine Estelle Halliwell was born on August 6, 1972 in Watford, England. Before joining the Spice Girls, she worked in nightclubs in Mallorca, as the presenter of a Turkish gameshow, and as a glamour model. She controversially left the group in 1998 before embarking on a solo career with hits like Look At Me and a cover of It’s Raining Men. She also took on a diplomatic role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador. She was also a judge on UK TV show Popstars: The Rivals and on Australia’s Got Talent, and she has also released a series of yoga DVDs. In 2007, she reunited with the rest of the Spice Girls for The Return of the Spice Girls tour.
