George Miller

George Miller is an Australian filmmaker and former physician, born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on March 3, 1945. He is best known for his Mad Max Franchise and for the films Babe and Happy Feet. Miller became interested in making films after winning a student competition with his brother for their one-minute short film. He attended a film workshop at Melbourne University in 1971 and met Byron Kennedy. In 1972 Miller and Kennedy founded Kennedy Miller Productions and would collaborate on a number of works. Miller made his directorial debut in 1979 with the film Mad Max. He has since been part of the films, Mad Max 2, Twilight Zone: The Movie, The Witches of Eastwick, Dead Calm, Babe, Video Fool for Love, Happy Feet, Babe: Pig in the City, Mad Max: Fury Road and more. Miller has also worked on the television shows and films The Last Bastion, The Cowra Breakout, Vietnam, The Dirtwater Dynasty, The Riddle of the Stinson, Bangkok Hilton and others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Saturn Award and more.
