Edwin Encarnacion

Edwin Encarnacion was born Edwin Elpidio Encarnacion in La Romana, the Dominican Republic on January 7, 1983. He was the ninth round pick of the Texas Rangers in the 2000 MLB Amateur Draft. He was traded by the Rangers to the Cincinnati Reds. In 2009, the team traded Encarnacion to the Toronto Blue Jays, and he became a free agent in 2010. In the same year, he signed with the Toronto Blue Jays and became a free agent in 2017 before signing with the Cleveland Indians. He has been part of the All-Star Games in 2013, 2014, and 2016. He has also been the Player of the month for May 2014 and August 2015 in the American League. He received six weekly awards, five in the American League and once in the National League.
