Don Lemon

Don Lemon is an American news anchor, author, and journalist born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 1, 1966. He is best known for being an award winning news anchor for CNN and hosts CNN Tonight. His career in news started in college as a news assistant at the channel WNYW. He was then hired on by the TV station WBRC in Alabama as a weekend anchor. He went on to anchor at news stations like KTVI and NBC and in 2006 he was hired by CNN. He is known on the show for being outspoken about how the African American community can improve themselves and has hosted the CNN New Years Eve Special in New Orleans since 2014. In 2011 Lemon published his book Transparent, a memoir detailing a behind the scenes look at his work in journalism. Throughout his career in journalism he has won awards for his work, including an Emmy Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and several more.
