At just 25 years old, Los Angeles DJ Dillon Francis has been gaining recognition as one of the forerunners of the Moombahton genre, a type of music that is up and coming which combines house music blends with reggaeton beats. This genre is born from the umbrella genre known as EDM, or electronic dance music. Francis discovered this sub-genre while he was experimenting with different dubstep tracks during his internship with Rowdy Records.

Dillon Francis, who goes by his real name when performing, released his first EP entitled Swashbuckler back in 2010, and has since then been noticed by the major leagues of DJ-ing, notably Steve Aoki, Diplo, and Will. I. Am. 2011 is said to have been his most important year seeing as he released two EPs, Westside! and Bossa Rocka.
