Dave Roberts

Dave Roberts was born on May 31, 1972, in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. He helped his school win the San Diego Section Class 3A football championship when he was a senior. He played as a walk-on outfielder for the University of California, Los Angeles.

Detroit Tigers picked him in the 1994 MLB Draft. During his three years with the Tigers, he played in several minor league teams. He was traded to Cleveland Indians, and he stayed on the minor leagues until 1998. He made his debut in the major league on August 1999.

In 2001, he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers traded him to the Boston Red Sox in 2004 and joined the San Diego Padres in the same year. He joined the San Francisco Giants after two years. He retired on May 2009.
