Conjunto Primavera

Conjunto Primavera

Conjunto Primavera is a Mexican conjunto group from Ojinaga, Chihuahua. The band was formed in 1978 by Juan Dominguez. They didn’t sign with a label until 1980 when they signed with Joey Records, which was based in San Antonio, Texas. They released good songs such as “La Sirenita,” “Borracho Y Loco,” and “Cuatro Primaveras,” but they still did not gain a lot of fame. In 1988, the lead singer left the group and a different one, Tony Melendez, joined. This turned out to be a successful move, as the group signed with AFG Sigma Records and released Me Nortie, which is now regarded as their best album ever. The group has been nominated for several Latin Grammy Awards and they won one in 2014 for the Best Norteño Album for their album Amor Amor.
