Carman

Carman, born Carmelo Domenic Licciardello on January 19, 1956 in Trenton, New Jersey, is a Contemporary Christian musician as well as an evangelist. As a boy, he learned to play drums and guitar and sing, yet he also studied acting. He made his first album God’s Not Finished With Me in 1980 and followed it with Some ‘O’ Dat in 1982. After releasing his first live album Sunday’s On the Way, Carman had his first Number 1 song with the title track to his 1985 album The Champion. In all, Carman has released 22 studio albums including Addicted to Jesus (1992,) The Standard (1993,) Heart of a Champion (2000,) House of Praise (2002,) and Instrument of Praise (2007.) He has won 7 GMA Dove Awards and been nominated for 4 Grammys.

Carman is also the founder of Carman Ministries and Carman World Outreach. He has written songs for the soundtracks of films such as The Prince of Egypt and Jesus Camp. He also wrote and starred in two films R.I.O.T and The Champion and co-founded the Parable Christian Film Festival. In 2014, Carman released his latest album No Plan B.
