Cam’ron

Cam’ron, born Cameron Ezike Giles, is a rapper and actor from Harlem. He first signed to Epic Records in 1997 after meeting and impressing East Coast hip hop juggernaut Notorious B.I.G. Over the next several years, he released a number of albums both as a solo artist, as well as with The Diplomats, a hip hop group founded by Cam’ron and fellow Harlem rapper Jim Jones. Between his solo albums and The Diplomats, also known as Dipset, Cam’ron marked the early 2000s with a number of successful singles, including “Hey Ma,” “Dipset Anthem,” and “What Means the World to You.” In 2004, he released Purple Haze, one of his most commercially and critical albums to date. Featuring production from The Heatmakerz and a young Kanye West, the album made Cam’ron a fixture of hip hop in the 2000s. He is currently working on Purple Haze 2, which is slated to arrive in November 2016. He claims the album will be his final.
