Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer born in Inglewood, California on June 20, 1942. He is best known for co-founding the popular American rock band The Beach Boys. Brian wrote or co-wrote over 20 Top 40 hits for the band and is known to be one of the most significant songwriters of the late 20th century. He co-founded the group in 1961 with his two brothers, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. Together the band released 30 studio albums, 8 live albums, 55 compilation albums, 23 EPs, and over 70 Singles. On December 30, 1980 the Beach Boys were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and have won two Grammy Awards. A number of their songs have also been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 1990 Brian began performing and recording as a solo artist while still remaining a part of the Beach Boys. He released his debut solo studio album in 1988 self-titled Brian Wilson and continued releasing solo albums like I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times, Orange Crate Art, Imagination, That Lucky Old Son, and others. In total Wilson released 11 studio albums, 3 live albums, and 1 compilation album. He was also in a number of films and television shows, including The Girls on the Beach, The Monkey’s Uncle, The Return of Bruno, Full House, and more.
