Brian Blessed was born on October 9, 1936 in Yorkshire, England. Brian Blessed is a prolific actor having appeared in over 130 projects throughout his career. Blessed is perhaps best known for his deep booming voice. His career sterted in 1962 when he appeared in the show Z-Cars. In a career that has spanned 6 decades, Blessed has appeared in 29 movies most notably; Henry VIII and His Six Wives (1972), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Hamlet (1996), Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) and Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return (2014).

Blessed also has countless television appearances and has accomplished a lot outside of show business as well. He is currently the oldest man to go to the magnetic North Pole; and has also tried to reach the summit of Mt Everest 3 times without oxygen.

In 2016, Brian Blessed was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) a huge honor in British society.
