Boosie BadAzz (Lil Boosie)

Going by his stage name of Boosie BadAzz aka Lil Boosie, rapper Torrence Hatch was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on November 14, 1982. Though raised by both of his parents in his youth, Lil Boosie lost his father when he was still very young, and in order to stay away from the danger of his neighborhood, he decided to pursue basketball. Lil Boosie was, however, expelled from school, at which point he turned his attention to music and joined the group Concentration Camp in 1998. While in the group, he became close with rapper C-Loc, and lent guest vocals on C-Loc’s album It’s a Gamble in 2000. This would count as his musical debut, which he followed with his own debut album in 2000, which was titled Youngest of da Camp. This garnered him the attention he craved seeing as he was only 17, though the album did not sell as many copies as he had wished. Lil Boosie was signed to Trill Entertainment, followed his debut album in 2002 with For My Thugz.

In 2004, Lil Boosie collaborated with rapper Webbie to release the Trill Azz Mixtape and Trill Azz Mixes II. Lil Boosie then signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records, and later put out the album Bad Azz in 2006, led by the single “Zoom” with Yung Joc. The rapper would go on to release the albums Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz in 2009, and Incarcerated in 2010. His music endeavors were put on hold, however, when he was incarcerated from 2009 to 2014 on drug charges. When he was released, he announced his plans for his sixth studio album, titled Touchdown 2 Cause Hell.
