Berhana an R&B artist from Atlanta who drew attention for his song “Janet”, an outlook of how skin color determines one’s state of importance and existence. “Janet” is centered on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the replacement of Janet Hubert with a lighter-skinned actress, sparking a debate of colorism. Berhana’s music video on YouTube amassed 800k views and showcased Berhana artistry in freeform R&B. He followed “Janet” with “Grey Luh” and released a self-titled EP Berhana.
