Andrew Zimmern

Andrew Zimmern is a celebrity chef, television and radio personality, journalist, and author born in New York City, New York on July 4, 1961. He is the co-creator, host, and consulting producer on a number of the Travel Channel’s television series, including Bizarre Foods America, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, The Zimmern List, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, Dining with Death, Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations, and Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre World. Zimmern is also the co-creator and host of the Food Network series The Big Food Truck. His love of food started at a young age and he began taking culinary classes at 14 years old. He has been the executive chef or general manager at many fine restaurants around New York and Minneapolis. In 2009 he published his book The Bizarre Truth: How I Walked out the Door Mouth First…and Came Back Shaking My Head and followed it up in 2012 with the book Andrew Zimmern’s Field Guide to Exceptionally Weird, Wild, and Wonderful Foods. In 2018 he opened a Chinese restaurant in St. Louis Park, Minnesota and named it Lucky Cricket. He serves as the head chef at his restaurant.
