Amanda Palmer

Amanda Palmer is an American musician, songwriter, and author born in New York City, New York on April 30, 1976. She is best known for her roles in the groups and duos The Dresden Dolls, Evelyn Evelyn, and Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra. As a young adult she busked for a time as a living statue called The Eight Foot Bride in Cambridge, Scotland, Australia, and many other places. In 2010 she co-formed the Dresden Dolls Duo with Brian Viglione and in 2002 they released their debut album self-titled The Dresden Dolls. They released two books while together The Dresden Dolls Companion and Virginia Companion. In 2007 she started collaborating with Jason Webley forming Evelyn Evelyn and released their debut album Elephant Elephant. She has also released several solo albums, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, Theatre is Evil, and There Will Be No Intermission. Palmer has been in several documentaries like Artifact, Temple of Art and Lennon or McCartney. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a several awards and has won a Pioneer Award, a Boston Music Award, and others.
