Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke was born on born August 25, 1988 in Islington, London to singer Melissa Bell. Like her mother, Burke pursued singing, rising to fame after winning the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008. She went on to release her debut album Overcome in 2009, topping the charts at UK Album and Singles, receiving a nomination for best album at the Urban Music Awards. Her success streak continues with her following album Heartbreak on Hold (2012) and hit singles “Broken Heels”, “Start Without You”, and “Elephant”. Her talents extend beyond singing as she took to the stage to perform in The Bodyguard Musical and Sister Act The Musical. She is a supporter of organizations such as Chain of Hope in Jamaica, Breast Cancer Care and Diabetes UK. She is currently the new face of Slimfast.
