Albert Pujols
Albert Pujols was born in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic on January 16, 1980. The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the 1999 MLB June Amateur Draft. His team has been a World Series champion twice, in 2006 and in 2011.
He stayed with the Cardinals until 2011. He received the National League Most Valuable Player award three times. He was an All-Star pick in 2001 and from 2003 to 2010. He received the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2001. In 2003, he was the National League batting champion and he was also a two-time home run leader. He earned six Silver Slugger Awards and two Gold Glove awards.
He went on to play for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2012.
